In celebration of Mothers Day I will be offering portrait sessions for a $15 sitting fee April 15 through May 10. All participants will receive a complimentary 5×7 Classic series print. All sitting fees will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. This would be a great opportunity for “Mom” to have her portrait made with her children and supporting a wonderful cause in the process.
Breast Cancer is a desease I’m all too familar with. Two of my sister-in-laws are breast cancer survivors so it is a charity that is close to my heart. You can make an appointment for a portrait session by phoning 252.726.5799. Walk-ins are always welcome on Wednesday between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM or any other time you happen to find me in the studio. There are no minimum purchases required. Additional prints may be purchased. I will donate 10% of all purchase orders to the NCBF as well.
As a boy, when the other kids were playing “cowboys and indians” I was frequently playing “newspaper reporter.” I was always fascinated by the idea of reporting news. Though I never pursued that side of photography I couldn’t resist giving it a try at a local “Tea Party.” Please note I’m not posting this as a political statement. This was simply my attempt at documenting a current event.
These peaceful examples of “civil disobedience” took place all over the country April 15. It struck me as a newsworthy and unusual occurence. These photos were taken at the “Tea Party” in Morehead City, North Carolina. The event was held in the parking lot of the Kmart Plaza and was attended by about 1000 people. I’d love to hear comments about whether you think I did a good job covering this event.

Holly’s Sweet Shop in Newport will be holding an ice cream social with a special appearance by the Easter Bunny Saturday, April 11. The children will learn how to make home made ice cream and get to decorate their creations with Easter candy. I’ll be on hand to snap photos of the activities and to make portraits of children with the Easter Bunny for anyone that wants them. Visit Holly’s shop on Chatham Street in Newport for information or to sign-up for the event.
Hope to see you there!
