About

You Come First!

This is the space where I’m supposed to tell you what a great photographer I am. But honestly, I’d rather talk about you first. When you think about it, isn’t that what this should really be about… putting you first? You see, to me you’re not an opportunity to add to my portfolio. Nor are you just a another paycheck to help out my bottom line. You, the couple, are unique and interesting individuals. It is that individualism that makes photographing your wedding fun for me. I’m not interested in creating hip, modern, trendy and stylish images of your wedding. After all, today’s modern trends will be so “yesterday,” tomorrow! I want to capture your joy, happiness and the special nuances that make you the loving couple that you are, in an honest, personal and authentic way. In the end, my goal is to provide you with photos that will remind you of your friends, family and life partner… photos that will recreate the incredible feeling of warmth and love you felt as you were surrounded by all those special people. A feeling you can enjoy for the rest of your life through your wedding photos!

Now It’s My Turn

What about me? Well I’m a guy with cameras. I’d like to think that I take a different approach to photography than other “wedding pros.” Sure I’ve got bragging points like having been published in the New York Times and other national publications, and could call myself an “award winning photographer,” but there’s more to me than that.

How I Work

I use portable lighting equipment to bring an editorial/commercial quality to my images. Producing photos that go “pop” like the stuff you see in magazines, while capturing the special moments of your day is my goal. But I’m not limited to using lights and flash. When the magic of the moment can be better communicated by using the ambient light of the location I’ll do that too. My focus is on making images of you and the relationships you share with the ones you love. As you explore my portfolio I’m confident you’ll find my images fun, honest, playful and personal, just like you, your family and friends.

My Style

Sometimes people ask about my style. If I had to describe what I produce with three words I’d say, “Authentic… Honest… Personal.” Basically I take a documentary approach and mix that with fashion/editorial style portraiture to create unique imagery of you, your family and guests. When shooting a wedding I seek to not only capture the emotion and romance, but also to photograph the fun and playfulness that takes place throughout the day.

A Few Final Words

Photography is something more than a career choice for me. It’s something I really enjoy doing. I work hard to continue to grow, both technically and creatively. Take a look around. I’ll let my photos do most of the talking.
