Krista & Beau were in town to finalize their plans for their October 18 wedding. The trip included meeting with their wedding consultant, Rachel Munro, of Bridal by the Sea, their DJ, John Drake and their caterer, Floyd’s 1921 Resturant. Before making the drive home to Virginia we made a point of doing an engagement photo session for them. It always helps when I can get a couple in front of the camera before their wedding day. That way we all get used to each other and they’re usually a bit more comfortable in front of the camera. The wedding day is hectic enough without having to get used to the photographer.

Suzi Nesbitt and Shaun Fowler traveled all the way from Thorton, Colorado for a Crystal Coast beach wedding at Emerald Isle, North Carolina! The wedding was held “ocean side” at a lovely beach house and was well attended by family and friends from around the country. Catering was provided by the White Oak Bistro of Swansboro, NC. The weather was perfect for a fall wedding on the beach. Congruatulations and best of luck to Suzi and Shaun.
Here’s your chance to win $1500 towards your wedding photography. Photographik.org, an association of select wedding photographers around the world, is offering $1500 towards your wedding photography. Of course should you win you’d be more than welcome to apply that towards one of my packages. It’s pretty simple… doesn’t cost a dime… You simply write a little story about how you got engaged and viewers get to vote for their favorite story. You’ll want to be sure to invite your friends and family to vote. Check it out!
I had a chance to do a bridal portrait session with Terri last Wednesday afternoon. Overcast skies made made for dramatic backdrops on the beach and made light control especially easy. Such a pretty girl I’m looking forward to her wedding next month! Here’s a few of my favorites:

Kerry Buck is a youth pastor at Temple Babtist Church in New Bern North Carolina. His bride, Angela Carl, a daughter of a minister from Ohio. They are both blessed with the gift of beautiful voices, a strong faith and by the love they share. It was truely a joy to share their wedding day. Very, very rarely do I tear up during a wedding. After all, it’s kind of a “day at the office” for me. But when Angela and Kerry sang to each other during their ceremony… well I certainly had a few tears appear in my eyes. Such beautiful voices, full of love for each other. The dress was provided by the Intimate Bridal of New Bern. Friends and family helped with much of the rest. Congratulation Angela & Kerry. Thank you so much for sharing your day.
