From a recent portrait session at Fort Macon State Park.
Samantha & Rich were married October 17, 2009 at Saint Egberts Catholic Church, Morehead City, NC. Their reception followed at the Country Club of the Crystal Coast. The country club provided the catering and Chris Shafer provided the cake. The flowers were courtesy of The English Rose. Transportation provided by Diamond Limousine. Ck Entertainment provided the reception entertainment. It was a wonderful celebration of their love and even included a piper playing for arriving guests, dressed in full regalia. Be sure to checkout their slide show by clicking here.
Ray and Denna were down from Hagerstown, Indiana visiting friends at the Cape Carteret. They stopped by the studio one evening for a portrait session before enjoying dinner next door at Everyday Italian resturaunt.
New Bern Bridal Expo, 2009
Had a great time at the New Bern Bridal Expo. In past years I haven’t had a booth at this show. I’m glad I made the effort this year. This round I pulled a groom’s name for the grand prize winner. Congratulations Bret F. of Hickory, NC. He and his fiance’ are planning an October wedding at the Ocean Club, Indian Beach, North Carolina. Bret gets his choice of an engagement portrait, a bridal (or groomal?) portrait, or a portrait session. He’ll get to choose one image from the session to be printed as a 16×20 gallery wrapped canvas.
A special shout-out goes to Samantha L. who flew in from Astoria, NY for the show and to meet me. Samantha and Rich will be wed at St. Egbert’s Church in Morehead City, NC in October. I know it’s going to be a beautiful wedding.
I changed the layout of the booth up a bit since the Crystal Coast Bridal Fair so here’s some photos. My next show will be the Lejeune Bridal Gala at the Jacksonville Commons Community Center, February 15th.
Amy & Michael Engagement
Amy & Michael will be traveling from Arkansas for a beach wedding this May. They were in town visiting relatives for Christmas and took advantage of the opportunity for a fun engagement photo session. We shot in the studio, around Newport and at Fort Macon State Park. I’m looking forward to capturing images on their wedding day.
Gone to the Birds
As anyone would know that has followed my blog for a couple of years, during the winter I like to get out on the local nature trails and try my hand at wildlife and landscape photography. Granted, my “wildlife” subjects usually sports wings and feathers rather than fur and claws, but they’re wild just the same. The shot of the tufted titmouse was taken at a feeder in my backyard (between Havelock, Beufort and Newport… how’s that for triangulation?). The red cockaded woodpecker was taken in the Croatan National Forest along the Patsy Pond nature trail, near Cape Carteret. Hope you enjoy.
Not long after the Christmas Holiday the area’s bridal expos will be firing up. I’m currently planning booths at three bridal fairs this winter. If you’re attending any of them be sure to stop by and say “hey.” My first show will be the Crystal Coast Bridal Fair, January 17, 2009. The largest bridal expo in the area, it will be held at the Crystal Coast Convention Center, Morehead City, North Carolina. Next up will be the Lejeune Bridal Gala. The “Gala” will be held Sunday February 15 at the Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center, Jacksonville, NC. My third event will be the New Bern Bridal Fair, Sunday March 8, 2009. The New Bern bridal fair offers free admission for attendees and will be held at the Abilina Plantation, New Bern, North Carolina. Be sure to check my booth for show specials and a chance to win a wonderful prize at each show.
I recently attended a networking meeting for wedding vendors at Promisied Hearts Wedding Consultants in New Bern, North Carolina. Had a chance to share ideas and make friends with a variety of wedding vendors from around eastern NC. These kinds of affairs are always nice as there just isn’t any time to visit or small talke when working a wedding. Afterall, the wedding day is all about you, the couple, and you do deserve our undivided attention. Thanks for hosting the meeting Pam Duval. I’m looking forward to my next trip to New Bern to network with even more wedding vendors.
