Jennifer and Blake were wed December 23rd. It was a beautiful, sunny and warm North Carolina day. The ceremony was held outside with the reception in a tent. Rev. Bonnie Compton performed the ceremony. The wedding arrangements were made by Roger Carter Designs, (252) 222-4831. Entertainment was provided by D.J. John Drake, email. Karen and Jon had a lovely waterfront wedding on the Duncan House green, Beaufort, North Carolina. While the wind didn’t exactly cooperate with their plans for an outside wedding and reception, the sky was beautiful and the day full of joy. Exotic yet simple, it was certainly a fun wedding to participate in.
I thought I’d do something a little different and lay out the slideshow as an album. Folks are often curious about what a story book style album might look like. This would be a square format book, laid out as panographic spreads.

Heather and Dan were joined together Saturday, November 03, 2007 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Jacksonville, NC. Their reception followed at the Jacksonville Country Club. Entertainment was provided by Richard Lawton, Dj Plus Sax. This was a particularly fun wedding for me as Heather had been a bridesmaid in one of my previous weddings and that bride was a bridesmaid for Heather. They also shared an additional bridesmaid in common. It’s always nice to have familar faces around. Best of luck Heather and Dan!
Angela Flick and Jason Gray were wed at the Coral Bay Club, Atlantic Beach North Carolina, Saturday October 20, 2007. It was a lovely ceremony with the beach in the background. The couple was blessed with a lovely sunset for their intimate after ceremony photo session on the beach. Congratulations Jason and Angela!

Sam and Rae were wed in Hugh McRae Park, Wilmington, North Carolina on September 29, 2007. Rae and her bridesmaids prepped at the Blue Heaven Bed and Breakfast, Wilmington. Following the ceremony the reception was held at the Dock Street Resturant. Congratulations Sam & Rae.
WOW! I had the pleasure of spending two days with David Beckstead. For those not familiar with him, David is frequently considered one of the worlds top wedding photographers. He was the 2002 WPJA Photographer of the Year and in March 2007 American Photographer magazine included him on its list of the “Top Ten Photographers in the World.” He is an amazing person to meet, obviously an exceptional photographer and a great person to have the opportunity to learn from.
Recently David starting offering the “Shoot With Beckstead” workshop. He keeps the number of participants small so everyone gets a lot of individual attention. Last Monday & Tuesday he was in Wilmington and I was one of the less than a dozen photographers in attendance. We spent two days with David. On day one we shot at a number of locations around Wilmington. Locations included the Belamy Mansion, the battleship North Carolina, and downtown Wilmington. Both David and the photographers in the group choose set-ups for the models. David gives very limited direction, encouraging the participants to use their own vision and creativeness during the shoot. At the end of the day the participants return to there rooms to post process their images and to select 10 for critique by David. Each photographer also selects an additional 20 shots to be given to the models along with their “ten best.” On the second day, David critiques each photographer’s ten images in great detail. He gives support and praise where deserved, makes suggestions about how to improve the post processing and composition of each image, and shares how he might have shot the particular set-up differently. It was certainly an excellent opportunity to improve my photography and take it up a notch or two in the process. Below is a slideshow of the 30 images I submitted for critique and sharing with the models.
Monday evening, September 17, 2007 Kwane Combs and Jerry Neely exchanged vows at the beach at Emerald Isle, North Carolina. The wedding was held at a beautiful beach house on Ocean Drive, just after sunset. A romanticly clouded sky provided the perfect background for before ceremony formals. Catering was provided by the Poags, Captain Bills Resturant of Morehead City. The cake was courtesy of Cassie Paskvan’s, Cherry Bomb Bakery, Jacksonville NC. The warm reception, and friendliness of Kwane’s and Jerry’s families will be long appreciated. Best luck and congratulations.
Callie and Justin were wed, Saturday September 8, 2007 at the Dunes Club,Atlantic Beach, NC. Hair and make-up for the Bridal Party by the Hair Cafe, 4050 Arendell Street, Morehead City, NC. Reception enteretainment was provided by Patrick Pake of DJ Professionals & Video. While stormy weather threatened, the rains held-off to after the festivities. Best of luck Callie and Justin.
