{"id":45,"date":"2007-07-16T18:57:42","date_gmt":"2007-07-16T23:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rddeckerphotography.com\/blog\/?p=45"},"modified":"2007-07-20T07:31:36","modified_gmt":"2007-07-20T12:31:36","slug":"this-old-dress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/rddeckerphotography.com\/blog\/index.php\/2007\/07\/16\/this-old-dress\/","title":{"rendered":"This Old Dress!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was invited to participate in a post wedding bridal session.\u00a0 Frequently referred to as a Trash The Dress or Anti-bridal session, these shoots aren&#8217;t really about the dress.\u00a0 The goal is to make some interesting images of the bride or bride and groom in a setting not usually associated with wedding portraits.\u00a0 If the dress gets a little soiled in the process&#8230; well, oh well! Honestly these things rarely result in the dress being truely destroyed, but I&#8217;m sure it&#8217;s happened.\u00a0\u00a0The real idea is to get some\u00a0fun, playful,\u00a0maybe even\u00a0sexy or romantic photos of the bride or bride and groom.\u00a0 The location can be some\u00a0place they think would be cool.\u00a0 Or it could have some special meaning to the couple.\u00a0\u00a0 While these shoots frequently involve water shots there&#8217;s no reason that they have to.\u00a0 It really depends on what the bride and groom wants and how &#8220;playful&#8221; they&#8217;re willing to be in front of the camera.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0So why put the dress at risk?\u00a0 Of the three &#8220;brides,&#8221; two were already married, one soon to be.\u00a0 For one of the married ladies it &#8220;seemed better than letting it hang in the closet drawing dust.&#8221;\u00a0 For another (paraphrasing), &#8220;I&#8217;ve been married 9 years, had two kids and have worked very hard to get back to a size that I was when I got married.\u00a0 This is a celebration of that accomplishment.&#8221;\u00a0 And for the bride to be?\u00a0 Well after purchasing the dress she found another she liked better.\u00a0 No one seemed to want to buy it on Craigs List so she figured what the heck, might as well have some fun!.\u00a0 Hope you enjoy the photos&#8230; oh and\u00a0 &#8220;no brides were injured during the making of these photographs!&#8221;\u00a0 Want to see more?
